Great cake with a big give away

Great cake with a big give away

I have been given products from Sans Sucre in exchange for a review. All opinions are my own and are in no way influenced by the company providing the items. Affiliate links are included in this post.

Sans Sucre (sugar-free in French) manufactures products that have limited, or no sugar added, and they are gluten-free.  I was contacted by them last week, and they asked if I might do a review.  I agreed because of the low/no sugar added appeal for people with diabetes, and since they are gluten-free, the products appeal to a wide segment of the RA community who live gluten-free.

All I can say about the product I have tried is Wow!!  Now I know what the people with type 1 diabetes are about to say: I do not use any sugar added items, it might be no sugar added, but it still has carbohydrate, or if I want brownies I will have brownies, I do not want anything artificial.  How did I know that?  Those are the very same things I say when someone asks me to try a no sugar added ite m.

So far Sheryl and I have tried the blondie mix, and I love the outcome.  They are full flavored, they have no aftertaste, and best of all each serving has 23 carbohydrates (10 grams of sugar alcohol).  One serving of the blondies is an ample 1” x 1” square.  The prepared squares have only 4 Grams of fat and 1 gram of saturated fat per serving which translates to 3 Smart Points per serving on the WW diet plan.

Of course, Sans Sucre offers more than a blondie mix.  They offer brownies, blondies, mousse and coffee cake.  Both the mousse and key lime pie mixes have 7grams of carbohydrates plus the carbohydrates in skim milk used for the finished product.  It is estimated one brownie has 120 calories while the prepared mousse and key lime pie have 70 calories per serving.

The brownie mix has Sorbitol and Maltodextrin in it.  The mousse contains Maltodextrin and Sucralose.  I only say this because I know some are sensitive to these ingredients.  I also know that most can tolerate these ingredients in small doses.   For the gluten-free readers, the products are made from rice, not wheat.

What I like:

I promise if you take these to a Thanksgiving gathering, no one will complain about the taste or texture.  I know many of us look for items with lower carbohydrate counts that we like, while at the same time hoping they will satisfy the tastes of others who attend our gatherings.  I think the brownies will fit the bill.

I love the texture and flavor of the blondies. They are not quite like my mother used to make, but it is close.  The baking mixes retail for around $4.50 to $7.99 at the eDietShop while the mousse and pie fillings retail for about $3.90 also at the eDietShop.

And the Winner is:

I know what you are thinking is there some way I can try one of these before I buy?  You can win, yes win one chocolate brownie mix, one lemon mousse mix, and one key lime mix simply by responding to this post no later than midnight on November 12, 2018.  To enter, you must respond with the words Great Cake.  Each person who responds to this blog in the comment section with the words Great Cake will be entered.  Go to the comment section and remember you must use the words Great Cake in a response. If you do not use those two words, you will not be eligible.  So be sure and put to include those two words in your response.  I will be using RaffleCopter to automatically assign the winner so there will not be any funny business with selecting the winner.

The winner receives all three items.  I will ship them at my expense, so you get to try them without charge.  But remember you must use the words Great Cake in your response to this blog.   I think the winner will be happy with the result.
